KUNDALINI YOGA:

THE YOGA OF AWARENESS

December 2014

What began as an ancient practice performed in India roughly five thousand years ago is now an activity as common in Western society as running. Yoga was introduced to America in the late 19th century and has taken many forms. Common for all ages, in 2012, more than 20 million people practiced yoga in the U.S. Shabad Kaur Khalsa of Chicago's Spirit Rising Yoga demonstrates a variety of poses for daily practice.

VÍTÁME VÁS

April - May 2014

Deep in the heart of Iowa, sitting on the banks of the Cedar River in Cedar Rapids, the Czech Village / New Bohemia Main Street District offers visitors a chance to experience traditional Czech culture. Small businesses from meat markets and bakeries to antique shops and art galleries provide a glimpse into time-honored Czech customs.

Over the course of five weeks, I traveled to the village documenting the places and the people. This collection of photos was printed in a 12 x 12 hardcover book. The title, Vítáme Vás, means "we welcome you" in Czech.
