At Twitter, I covered breaking news, entertainment, sports, politics and more both in the US and globally. A few examples of the events I've worked on include the 2022 Beijing Olympics, the US midterm elections, the death of entertainment icon Betty White, MLB All-Star Week and the Home Run Derby, the war in Ukraine, the death of Queen Elizabeth II, and much more. At CNN, I've written about everything from magic mushroom decriminalization in Denver to the Barbie Malibu Dreamhouse for rent to the meaning behind the Memorial Day CrossFit workout 'Murph'. I love to tell stories about people in extraordinary circumstances: three children battling the same type of cancer or the oldest living couple in the world celebrating their 80th wedding anniversary. Bike to Work Day brings together the District’s 15,000 bicyclists who travel in the city each day. But in 2014 there was a rise in accidents involving bicycles and cars, with nearly 150 more accidents than the year before. These are the most dangerous intersections for city cyclists based off of accident data from the D.C. Department of Transportation.

When Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti passed a law that will incrementally raise the city's minimum wage to $15 an hour over the next five years, he promised it would bring hundreds of thousands of Angelinos out of poverty. But the economic impacts of such minimum wage increases have yet to be determined. Some fear it will increase the cost of consumer goods.
